Mrs Totino joined BHCA in 2007.  She has 20 years experience as an elementary Christian school teacher and several years as a principal with Lakeland Christian Academy in Lewisville, Texas.  Mrs. Totino has her elementary education degree from Oklahoma Wesleyan Univ. and educational leadership training from Texas Women's University.  "I love working with a staff that shares the same purpose of academic excellence in a Christian environment by planting spiritual seeds and then being privileged to watch those 'seeds' sprout."

"Mrs. K" joined BHCA in December of 2006.  "I love working here because it is like another family.  We laugh, cry, play, and pray together.  It is so amazing to me to see the teachers pour out everything they have for these kids.  Next to the excellent education, I know that my children are loved by every person in this school.  That means alot to me and my husband!"

Mrs. Neiman joined BHCA in January of 2008.  "I'm thankful to be working in such an encouraging and supportive environment.  The teachers are fantastic, and I appreciate the emphasis on both academic and Biblical principles.  I also enjoy watching the teachers interact with the students because the teachers really love their students and believe in them."

"Mrs. E." has taught our Preschool class since 2007.  She holds a bachelor's degree in art and psychology.  Mrs. E has 4 years previous teaching experience at a Montessori influenced preschool/licensed daycare before joining BHCA as a parent--volunteer and a substitute teacher. She is a parent of two children, stays active in various children's ministries, and continues her training with Early Childhood classes and with Parents as Teachers,  "Our curriculum places Christ and His love first and foremost in everything we do.  I truly enjoy creatively enhancing the learning potential of each child that I have the privilege of teaching and take great joy in making learning fun. Teaching at a Christian school fulfills a life-long hope within my walk with Jesus."

Mrs. Kollar graduated from the Univ. of Northern Colorado with a major in sociology and an endorsement in elementary education.  She has preschool experience as the director of her own school and "kid experience" as a Sunday School teacher, camp counselor,  Bible studies teacher, and a mom of three children.   "I plan on making learning exciting and even surprising for my students so that they grow a love for learning.  However, my greatest heart's desire is to be able to share Jesus' love with each of my students, to stress how incredibly special and important they each are, and to encourage them in God's purpose for their lives.  Being in an environment such as BHCA where I have the freedom to invest in my student's lives spiritually, emotionally, and academically, is a dream come true!"

Mrs. Raad has been at the academy since 2004 and teaches our Kindergarten class.  She has 4 years previous teaching experience at various Christian ministries in Sioux Falls.  "I love that my job is actually a ministry and to be a part of an amazing team all striving to nurture each child physically, emotionally, and most importantly spiritually.  Knowing I'm a part in molding a child's future with Christ in the center, is most rewarding."

Mrs. Robinson joins BHCA this year. She graduated from Black Hills State University with a degree in Elementary Education and has her South Dakota certification. Mrs. Robinson also works with elementary children on Sunday mornings at her church. "I am looking forward to teaching in a Christian school! This is a place where I can teach on my favorite subjects while keeping Christ at the center. I am looking forward to blessing each of these children and helping them grow closer to Christ."

"Mrs. M" has been with the academy since 1994.  She has 15 years of teaching experience, all spent at BHCA.  Mrs. M. has previously taught Kindergarten through 3rd grades.  "Back in 1994 my husband and I chose Christian education for our three small sons at BHCA.  There is no other place for me.  Each of my students I have taught through the years have become like one of my own!  I love them dearly."

IMiss Erickson grew up in the Sturgis area, graduated from Sturgis Christian School in 2001, and attended Pensacola Christian College in Florida. Kayla received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in History and minored in Bible in 2005. She stayed at PCC as a graduate assistant and in 2007 graduated with her Master of Science Degree in Secondary Education. "I am so thankful for the opportunity to teach and share God's love with the students of BHCA. I am looking forward to forming long lasting relationships with the children, parents, and staff. Mrs. Klyve has been with BHCA since 2002.  She holds a B.S. degree in Middle School and Secondary Education in German and English.  She has 17 years of teaching experience.  "I love Jesus and I love teaching.  What a better opportunity to share both than in a Christian school."

Mr. Mize joined BHCA in December of 2006.  He has a Bachelor in Arts in secondary education with a math major and sociology minor.  He also holds a Master's degree in curriculum and instruction with a gifted endorsement.  Mr. Mize has 32 years teaching experience and is a huge blessing to the staff, parents, and his students.

Brandee joined BHCA in 2009.  She comes to us with 18 years experience in Children's Ministry and has taught private piano and voice lessons for 7 years.  "Music has always been an important part of my relationship with God.  I love giving kids the opportunity to make music."
