Mrs Totino joined BHCA in 2007. She has 20 years experience as an elementary Christian school teacher and several previous years as a principal in Lewisville, Texas. Mrs. Totino has her elementary education degree from Oklahoma Wesleyan Univ. and educational leadership training from Texas Women's University. This year our school theme is "Higher Expectations". We want to strive to have higher expectations – not in others, but in ourselves – our behavior, attitudes & goals that we set for ourselves, and our relationship with Christ. Our Scripture is Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me.” Our school song for the year is "Counting on God". |

Mrs. Merchen joins the team at BHCA in 2011. She has a love for serving children and their families. Her previous fifteen year experience in children's ministry as a volunteer and children's director along with her business background will benefit her in her role as office manager. She looks forward to the new opportunities God has for her as she comes alongside the dedicated staff, the wonderful families, and their amazing children. She counts it a privilege and joy to be part of the BHCA familly! Col. 3:23, "And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men".

Mrs. Neiman joined BHCA in January of 2008. "I'm thankful to be working in such an encouraging and supportive environment. The teachers are fantastic, and I appreciate the emphasis on both academic and Biblical principles. Mrs. Humbracht joins BHCA in 2011. After years of teaching in daycare centers, children's ministry at church, and currently riasing her 2 boys; she is really looking forward to her journey with the BHCA family. She is excited to be able to teach both academics and Biblical principles to the pre-kindergartners. A favorite Scripture is "Let the little children come to me, and do not hunder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these." - Mark 10:14b.

Mrs. Zuniga joins BHCA in 2011. As the mother of three, one of her favorite verses is 3 John 1:4 "I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth." She has six years experience in Children's Ministry and a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Mass Communications with a minor in Sociology. "I am so excited that God has placed me at BHCA with amazing staff, supportive parents, and wonderful children! I look forward to growing alongside the Pre-K children and working for His glory at BHCA." |

Mrs. Raad has been at the academy since 2004 and teaches our Kindergarten class. She has 4 years previous teaching experience at various Christian ministries in Sioux Falls. "I love that my job is actually a ministry and to be a part of an amazing team all striving to nurture each child physically, emotionally, and most importantly spiritually. Knowing I'm a part in molding a child's future with Christ in the center, is most rewarding." |

"Mrs. M" has been with the academy since 1994. She has 17 years of teaching experience, all spent at BHCA. Mrs. M. has previously taught Kindergarten through 3rd grades. "Back in 1994 my husband and I chose Christian education for our three small sons at BHCA. There is no other place for me. Each of my students I have taught through the years have become like one of my own! I love them dearly." |

Mrs. Robinson joined BHCA in 2010. She graduated from Black Hills State University with a degree in Elementary Education and has her South Dakota certification. Mrs. Robinson also works with elementary children on Sunday mornings at her church. "I am looking forward to teaching in a Christian school! This is a place where I can teach on my favorite subjects while keeping Christ at the center. I am looking forward to blessing each of these children and helping them grow closer to Christ." |

IMiss Erickson came to BHCA in 2010. She grew up in the Sturgis area, graduated from Sturgis Christian School in 2001, and attended Pensacola Christian College in Florida. Kayla received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in History and minored in Bible in 2005. She stayed at PCC as a graduate assistant and in 2007 graduated with her Master of Science Degree in Secondary Education. "I am so thankful for the opportunity to teach and share God's love with the students of BHCA. I am looking forward to forming long lasting relationships with the children, parents, and staff. He also holds a Master's degree in curriculum and instruction with a gifted endorsement. Mr. Mize has 34 years teaching experience and is a huge blessing to the staff, parents, and his students. |

Mrs. Diedrich joined BHCA in 2009 as a teacher's aide and became the Art Teacher in 2010. She has an elementary education degree from the University of S.D. She taught 3rd & 4th grade in SD and 3rd Grade in Gillette, WY, for five years before moving to Spearfish. Raising kids, subbing, Promiseland leadership & Sunday School, 4-H, small candle business, and taking care of her array of animals/pets keeps her busy. She loves teaching Art and helping bring the uniqueness thats inside of the students out through their creativeness. |

Mrs. Chaplin joied BHCA in 2010 as the 1st-8th Grade Spanish teacher. She is the pastor's wife of Calvary Temple A.G. She is originally from South America and has a J.D. degree from Saint Tomas of Aquino University in Columbia as well as specializing in other areas. She worked with International Students in London at Southall School of Languages and Missionary Orientation, as the Chair of Social Justice and Community Development Course. She has also worked as a Spanish teacher at North Central University in Minneapolis. "I love to teach Spanish and observe the process of how new sounds and visions of new cultures can expand the way to approach the world, in children and adults." |
